- Reforest Nation is set to plant 1 million trees in Ireland.
- It was set up in 2021 by Gearóid McEvoy due to boredom while in lockdown. He, his father and friends planted 5,000 trees in their first year.
- Now they have volunteers around Ireland who together after 3 years are set reach the goal of planting 1 million trees.
- Ireland is covered by just 11% forestry, one of the lowest in Europe.
- Reforest Nation have teamed up with the Mardyke and plan to plant 20,000 along the Lee next year. Other businesses or organisations Leeside can team up with Reforest Nation too.
