What’s included in the plan?
- Areas covered in the South East Region are Wicklow, Wexford, Waterford, Kilkenny and South Tipperary.
- The plan spans 25 years and looks at the 111 water supplies that serve the region.
- The report addresses the risks associated with the quality, quantity, reliability and sustainability of these water sources and offers solutions.
- For the first time, environmental considerations were placed at the heart of the plan.
- The plan also focuses on providing a reliable water supply to growing populations in areas such as Bray and Newtownmountkennedy.
