Unesco’s Youth Programme focuses on:
- Teach young people about environmental issues, climate and bio-diversity.
- Allowing young people to come together in groups and bringing sustainable ideas to a local level.
- Allowing young people to feel empowered in terms of sustainable development, as well as feeling hopeful for their future.
Eco-Unesco is linked to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, therefore, Eco-Unesco follows the UN Sustainable Development Goals in order to focus young people on pursuing change locally rather than in a worldwide sense.
UN Sustainable Development Goals:
1.No Poverty | 5. Gender Equality | 9. Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure | 13. Climate Action | 17. Partnerships for the Goals |
2. Zero Hunger | 6. Clean Water and Sanitation | 10. Reduced Inequalities | 14. Life Below Water | |
