Did you know?……
The global climate and biodiversity crisis can seem overwhelming and make us feel powerless to affect any real change.
Following a screening of a film called ‘The Letter – a message to our Earth’ in Fossa last September a group of people from the parish were inspired to see what steps could be taken by ordinary people at a local level to promote biodiversity, reduce waste and greenhouse gas emissions.
How to help?……
Last Sunday there was a huge turnout at Fossa Community Hall for their very first Community Sustainability Fair.
They set up a Climate Action Group and on Sunday they held their first event.
The Community Sustainability Fair showcased the organisations making a difference in the county.
Sixteen exhibitors including KWD recycling, the Mountain Meitheal, Transition Kerry, Beaufort Bee Keepers and the Killarney Coffee Cup Project were there to chat to people about the work they’re doing and what the general public can do to help.
The organising committee wanted people to see that there is something that we can all do to help.
Fantastic to see a local community working together to protect the environment.
