Over 90 secondary schools around Ireland, including 5 in Kerry, took part in this year’s Rubbish Film Festival.
The Rubbish Film Festival challenges students to create a one-minute short film looking at issues like litter, waste prevention and responsible consumption.
Participating schools receive support from a company called Create School to help students produce their entries.
The project is now a nationwide competition with 93 schools taking part with the financial support of 13 local authorities.

Peter Baxter, is the founder and director of Create School, which runs the Rubbish Film Festival.
Disappearing biodiversity and reusable coffee cups were among the topics tackled by schools in Kerry.
The winning Kerry film called The Fire in The Eyes was made by TY students at St Patrick’s Secondary School in Castleisland. They took on the issue of wildfires which were more common throughout Europe last Summer, because of very high temperatures.
