- Wexford County Council have once again this year for the FREE shredding of Christmas trees for householders at the various locations throughout the County.
- If only bringing a Christmas tree for shredding to Wexford County Council’s 4 household recycling centres, there is no entry charge. €2 entry charge applies for all other waste accepted at Wexford County Council’s 4 household recycling centres.
- Enniscorthy Household Recycling Centre (on the Old Dublin Road), Gorey Household Recycling Centre (Gorey Business Park), New Ross Household Recycling Centre (Hewittsland) and Holmestown Recycling Centre (Barntown) will all accept your trees from Wednesday, January 3 to Saturday, January 6 and then from Tuesday, January 6 to Saturday, January 10.
- The opening hours at the recycling centres are Tuesday to Friday 8.15 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 8.15 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m.
- Trees will also be shredded at Redmond Park in Wexford town from Wednesday, January 3, to Wednesday, January 10, Monday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- In Rosslare, trees will be accepted at Rosslare Harbour/Kilrane Sports & Social Centre in St Brendan’s Estate, again from January 3 to 10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. while the same hours apply for disposal of trees at Bunclody FC on the same dates.
- You can also recycle your Christmas ‘Empties’ – Put beverage cartons into your green bin, as well as cardboard, paper, food and drink cans. Bring glass and cans to your local recycling centre. If a bring bank is full, don’t leave materials on the ground, use your nearest alternative site or come back another day.
