It’s Back To School time and in this episode of ‘Ours To Protect’ Carol Dooley meets Patrick Jackson founder of ‘Picker Pals’ who discusses how this free programme for primary schools encourages young students and their families to take to lead on litter and how with the right motivation and tools children, teachers, families and communities will create a better environment for our shared future.

Pat Neville, Communications Manager at Coillte talks about  ‘Leave No Trace, Love This Place’ – a national campaign which calls on the public to come together to protect our rich natural landscapes and how taking simple and mindful steps year round can ensure we will all continue to enjoy the places we love well into the future.

Sunshine’s Jane McNamara talks to local young students about the schools’ role in protecting the environment and whether schools are doing enough. Separately Jane asks students about their attitudes to litter and what they feel should be done to better address the issue.
