- Two of the country’s biggest co-ops Dairygold and Tírlán have announced a partnership with the renewable energy solutions programme FarmGen to help get more green energy into Irish dairy farms.
What is FarmGen?
- FarmGen consists of assiting farmers in the installation of solar panels by assisting the farmer throughout the process of planning, financing, installation and grant applications.
- The bespoke FarmGen systems are specifically designed to power energy-intensive processes on farm, such as milk cooling, vacuum pumps, water heating and more. Depending on the system size and battery bundle, FarmGen can deliver energy savings of typically between 20% and 50% per annum.
