This week’s episode is looking at E-Waste and how a circular economy might be the way forward for business and also for the average person to help reduce e-waste and help the environment.
We talked with Padraig Power, Senior Marketing Manager for Global Operations at refurbed.
Refurbed is the leading online marketplace for refurbished products in Ireland and the fastest growing of the entire DACH region. Founded in 2017 by Peter Windischhofer, Kilian Kaminski and Jürgen Riedl in Vienna, refurbed now employs more than 290 people.
The platform offers fully refurbished electronic devices up to 40% cheaper than new, with at least twelve months warranty.
Buying a refurbished device on average can save up to 80% CO2, 73% of e-waste and 90% of water. In addition, a native tree is planted for every product sold, with more than 4 million trees planted with our trusted partners. All refurbed products are therefore more sustainable than new appliances.
Additionally, the product range on refurbed’s marketplace comprises more than 18,000 products – from smartphones, laptops and tablets to household appliances or gaming consoles. Currently refurbed is present in 7 countries, including Ireland, Austria, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Denmark and The Netherlands.
Padraig helps us understand some of these issues in this week’s episode.
